Kobayashi-san from HKS Japan explains:
In search of the “R35 GT800 Racing Spec” ultimate performance which tempts R35 GT-R into extreme speed level, I adopt “a symmetry twin turbo layout” to remind of an F1 V6 turbo engine and inject feelings only by a HKS GT Ⅱ turbine performing assembling from a design in own company.
In addition, I carry out a run test by the combination with various articles I do not develop just a part as general maker HKS, and to have you enjoy performance more than 800HP in various countries in the world and develop it to be able to suggest it as a package of the whole vehicle.
Taniguchi on HKS GT600 and GT800 – Racing Driver Nobuteru Taniguchi speaks about his impression of the GT600 and GT800 GT-R from HKS. Please switch on Closed Captions for English Subtitles.
HKS’ recently developed GT II turbo series allowed HKS to design and manufacture a turbo completely in-house to achieve the ultimate specification without having to compromise with premade parts from other manufacturers. Continuing this concept for the R35 has lead to a symmetrical twin turbo layout which was inspired by the V6 Turbo engines from Formula 1.
In addition to the turbo kit a whole range of products make up the “R35 GT800 Racing specification” which has been developed as a result of continual testing and on track feedback to make 800hp targets accessible to all. Final testing is now taking place to allow these products to be ready for sale for autumn 2010.
HKS R35 GT800 Full Turbo Kit
Using both types of the HKS GT II turbo (conventional and reverse rotation) it is possible to produce a turbo kit which has a symmetrical twin turbo design which allows the kit to stay compact and tidy within the engine bay. Cast manifolds have been designed for this kit in order to prevent heat damage (prototype tubular manifolds shown in picture)

HKS R35 GT-R Forged Piston and H Beam Connecting Rod Set
Reinforcement of the engine internals becomes necessary when targeting over 800 horsepower or 100kgm torque. H-Beam connecting rods with 99.5mm diameter pistons designed specifically for GT800 spec, the stock plasma coating is not affected and installation is easier due to balancing not being necessary. Giving a compression ratio of 8.7 and with features such as good piston skirt lubrication through carefully designed oil control ring grooves made possible by HKS in house design and manufacturing, this kit will be able to support the needs of many high power users.
HKS R35 GT-R Head gasket set with Exhaust manifold Gasket
This 0.8mm thickness gasket kit, designed to be used to HKS GT800 specification features opposed bead stoppers which can be used at over 800ps. Reinforced exhaust manifold gaskets are also included in the kit for added strength and convenience.
HKS R35 GT-R Injector and Fuel pump
In order to satisfy the fuelling needs for 800+ps targets, HKS developed injectors which are not only high capacity but the injection pattern was studied carefully to optimise combustion. Injectors spray towards the intake valves of the engine aiding flow and mixture and available in 2 different capacities for varying degrees of tune.
New design fuel pump now allows replacement of the pumps without the need to modify any of the pump or vehicle components. The new stock replacement type pump will also be introduced into the GT600 packages for ease of installation.
HKS R35 GT-R Transmission Oil Sump
HKS Oil Pan for the GR6 transmission of Nissan GT-R R35. The high strength Aluminium cast honey comb design improves the rigidity of the transmission case. The load to the internal components can be reduced and the gears can rotate smoothly. With GT-R performance continuously evolving to produce higher and higher power outputs, reducing the load to the transmission with the HKS oil sump is highly effective and recommended to increase the durability of the transmission.
HKS R35 GT-R F-Con tuning solutions
HKS F-Con now supports the R35 GT-R with two package options in order to offer complete support for the GT800 spec items. F-Con iS and F-Con VPro are both available as an “R35 package” which contains:
F-Con unit (Vpro/iS)
Plug & Play Harness
Valcon (valve timing controller)
OSC Oxygen Sensor Computer (for iS package only)
Available through F-Con Power Writer Dealers only [Racebreed.fi = certified Power Writer Dealer].
New GT800 Specification parts for R35 GT-R
Some of the parts which were previously only available as part of the GT570 or GT600 package, are now available as individual parts making our parts choice for R35 GT-R even more flexible.
All parts are either already available or due for release in autumn 2010.
A new concept oil filter which improves oil pressure drop and flow properties by approximately 30% compared to current sports oil filters. Large diameter “Super Intake Hole” and newly developed low resistance hybrid filter allows for low pressure loss. Engine response is improved by reducing the load on the engine.
Most sports oil filters are assumed to use high viscosity oil and therefore filter paper strength is prioritized whilst sacrificing absolute pressure loss properties. HKS Hybrid Sports Oil Filter has readdressed filter strength and overall structure to provide the oil flow that the engine requires and pursue HKS’ ideals in what is required from a sports oil filter.
Filter Fitment
In the interest of universal fitment, unit size has been standardised at φ68×65mm. Fitment bolt sizes are M20-1.5P and 3/4-16 UNF. Filtration performance JIS standard is 25μ whereas HKS is 20μ making the Filter compatible with most standard engine requirements. Please check the Application List below to confirm fitment for your vehicle.
Note. Not all cars/models are listed on the list.
For example: Nissan Skyline GT-R, BNR34, R34 = UNF 3/4-16. The same Oil Filter will fit all RB26DETT, R32, R33 & R34 GT-R.
Filter Life
Under normal usage, it is recommended that the filter is changed every 10,000km or 6months. For Sports driving, the recommended distance is approximately 1/3 – 1/2 of the previously mentioned figure (as the engine revolutions are several times that of normal driving). However, to maintain optimum low pressure loss properties, it is recommended to change the filter every 3000km when an oil change is performed.
This item is available for pre-order. We except deliveries to start around late May – early June 2010.
HKS is pleased to announce a new product for R32, R33 & R34 Skyline GT-R’s.
Achieving low back pressure with quiet Sound levels:
Suitable for stock power levels to high power vehicles with large turbo.
Low sound level for comfortable street driving.
Highlighting the distinct sound of the engine under acceleration
RB Series features:
“From stock vehicle to high power vehicle over 600PS”
The exhaust pipe is Φ85 straight design which is suitable for power levels from stock to 600PS with upgraded turbo(s) (Connection flange to catalyser is Φ80 for compatibility with HKS Metal Catalyser.) There are no narrow sections in the main silencer or tail pipe which reduced exhaust gas back pressure. The pipe layout is as straight as possible for ideal exhaust gas flow efficiency. Optimized layout of flanges enables as much road clearance as the stock muffler.
“Quiet and comfort sound level.”
Exhaust sound was tuned for the following conditions, “Street”, “Idling”, “Driving in residential areas”, “Cold starting”, “High speed cruising” for both “comfort in the cabin” and “outside sound level”. Sound has been tuned to cut uncomfortable low frequency noise.
“The unique RB26 sound during acceleration.”
During acceleration, “The unique RB engine sound” can be heard at high rpm whilst being “quiet and comfortable” at low rpm during street driving.
With HKS Front Pipe and Metal Catalyzer, the sound level clears Japanese road safety regulations. (Actual sound level depends on setting and specification.)
HKS’ unique sound control technology, Slit tip !!
The inner slit shape of tip has silencer effect and it was designed with inspiration from an owl’s wing.
Owls fly without making a sound aided by the notch shapes of their wing tips that releases air to prevent drag and eliminate noise. With this idea, slits inside the tip of the muffler eliminates noise by approximately 2dB.
Sound level and frequency were analyzed both inside and outside the cabin so that it does not prevent conversations and would not cause noise problem outside. In addition, low frequency “drone” noise was reduced to prevent uncomfortable noise inside and outside cabin.
These mufflers are currently available to order for the following vehicles:
31029-AN001 Super Turbo Muffler for R32 Skyline GT-R, 89-94.
31029-AN002 Super Turbo Muffler for R33 Skyline GT-R, 95-98.
31029-AN003 Super Turbo Muffler for R34 Skyline GT-R, 99-02.
Mitsubishi’s performance division Ralliart announced that they will close its doors by the end of the month.
Mitsubishi USA PR boss Maurice Durand, has assured that none of the changes will affect Ralliart products in the United States, or likely elsewhere in the world. Durand explained that the Ralliart subsidiary in Japan that makes high-performance and racing products will close its doors, but that that part of the company is separate from the rest. Mitsubishi licenses the Ralliart name to different companies in different markets and while those markets that rely on the Japanese Ralliart products will now need to find a new supplier, in many markets the Ralliart products were already supplied by other outside tuning companies.
In addition, Durand commented that Ralliart vehicles will continue to be produced and that, “this doesn’t mean there won’t be any future Ralliart vehicles either.”
While the news certainly is sad for hard-core JDM tuners, the decision was an economic one as Durand admits, “There just isn’t much of a market for elite high-performance products, especially in Japan right now.
Performance division Ralliart of the Japanese from Mitsubishi will be closed due to lack of funds. It seems that this division is the victim of the increasingly lower involvement of the Japanese in motorsport and the extremely low sales that they have encountered. Also, the multitude of aftermarket parts available for Mitsubishi models that had a Ralliart version reduced the customers interest for these models.
Closing the performance division Ralliart does not mean the end of the Lancer Ralliart, Lancer Sportback Ralliart and Colt Ralliart models. Mitsubishi officials said they will still produce them, but the future of this kind of models is uncertain. Basically, people from Mitsubishi can anytime to produce a new Ralliart model as thay have all the rights related to this name and to the logo, but the final decision will be made depending on sales they will record for these models.

The case was newly designed for further strength and more supply volume. It ensures oil supply for engines which horsepower and maximum rpm are enhanced. _________________________________________________________
When boost pressure is increased and combustion force will be increased that will reduce clearance of pin journal and main journal of crankshaft. Besides, when engine is operated more than stock revolution limit, revolution parts and stroke parts will have difficulty to keep oil layer around the parts. HKS Reinforced Oil Pump has new shape of rotor teeth and body to have more capacity to supply proper oil into tuned RB26DETT engine.
Oil channels are smooth and round for added oil flow. (Compared to OEM-Nissan which are with are tight 45° bends).
Oil pressure adjustment portion for optimal flow.
Each pump is hand built, bolts torqued and marked in final assembly.
